Running backwards

Today I ran again-but I was pretty sore going around the gym-then it hit me Run the other direction. So though it felt awkward I went left instead of right and I am glad I did-instantly no soreness. I also did some ladders today to try and build speed. If I can get up to 4 miles during seminary I will feel pretty great.

Back on!

OK so running is back on. The holidays are over and Tom is done with the stressful time at work, until this summer. So- I decided to schedule a small group activity at the church during Seminary. Not for the faint of heart. I pick a couple kids up at 6:10 and take the to Seminary, then while they are learning I run and Run and RUN! I have to figure out my timing- because they go from 6:15 to 6:50. I only got about 2 and 3/4 miles in today-55 laps :)(Church Gym) Let me tell you-your mind can go a million places during 55 laps. However, I haven't decided the best way to keep track of my laps yet. But oh it feels good to run again. And I was really surprised that I could still run that far. Oh What wonderful stuff our bodies are made of!

No More running

Well It has been a while since I ran. I am just doing a few miles every once in a while. Probably 2 or 3 time a week. Seth and Gabriel ride their bikes. Hyrum and Enoch ride in the double jogging stroller (complements of Wes and Marianne). That has been the limit of my running for the month. Bummer! Tom is working extra hours and this is all I could come up with.
So probably done with running until January when Tom gets done with roll-out. So I am signing out until then.

10 miles uhg!

OK,
I am on track for the half marathon and I must say, this Saturdays long run almost killed me! I ran 10 miles. I ran for 2 hours. Who knew you could actually run for two hours. I was running at one point during mile nine and I stopped running and walked a few steps without thinking. The last mile was up a gradual hill with lots of curves in the road. I am going to have to figure out some way to get a drink along the way, because my tongue was pasty I was so thirsty! My knees hurt a little to get up and down and go up and down stairs today, but other than that I am feeling good. And, thin :) I found a scale in the basement yesterday and it is a little broken so I am not sure how accurate it is, but it said I lost 20 pounds so I am going with it :)What a good little scale!

Last week

Well,
Last week I ran on Monday. Then Tuesday I pushed a huge executive desk up the stairs and killed my back. On Wednesday I tried to run-couldn't so I walked and I could only walk 1.5 mi. Yuck! stomache sunk!! then I rested Iced and used a heating pad. On Thursday I tried to do Jilean Micheals work out. Try being the key word. I mad it through the warm out and half of the first cycle. I am impressed at the stamina it requires to do that kind of a workout. Friday I rested and Saturday I ran. 7 Miles. Now I slept in yesterday and today. Hopefully I will get a run in tonight.

10K

Well,
today I ran the 10K. It was fun! A beautiful run. Right next to the mississippi-on both sides it was on an island. I just ran at my pace. I didn't push myself as far as speed. I ran it in just about an hour and 20 minutes. So right in time with my 5K. One of our friends-Ryun ran the 5K- he is a super runner. He ran up past me when I had about a mile left, and then he ran down past me when I had about a 1/4 mile left. So about 2 miles in the time it took me to run about 3/4 of a mile. It was awesome to watch him run. I was just amazed! The Human Body has got to be made by an all knowing Father in Heaven. I am so grateful for mine. When I crossed the finish line, there he was. I asked him how fast he had run-18 minutes...Wow! less than 6 minute miles. It sure is nice to have a goal that I can work toward. Next up- half marathon in August. Woot-Woot
